The MTA will have a system-wide shutdown starting tomorrow, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 12 PM. Please do not lead to the last train or bus. Service may not be restored by the Monday morning commute.
Beaches are closed. The Staten Island Ferry may be suspended if winds reach 46mph.
Freshmen move-ins on Sunday for Fordham, St. John’s, Columbia, and New York Universities have been postponed. Mets and Yankee games are cancelled
Alternate side of the street parking is suspended until Tuesday. Please clear the streets for emergency personnel. If you live in a low-lying area, please move your car to higher ground. City bridges may be closed. If you use Access-A-Ride, please schedule a pickup ASAP.
Yellow and livery cabs have been moved into “zone-fare” plans on Saturday with reduced fares and group rides, Liveries are allowed to make street pick-ups.
Please check on your neighbors and the elderly. Please move anything that could become debris indoors.
